Imprinted Concrete Driveway Clean, Re-Colour & Seal in Rochdale
This project was a complete restoration of an existing imprinted concrete driveway in Rochdale. Over time, the surface had become faded, losing its colour and protective layer. The goal was to bring the driveway back to its original condition, restoring its deep colour and providing a durable, high-gloss finish that would protect it for years to come.
Before & After
Before: The driveway was structurally sound, but the surface had become dull and faded due to weather and general wear. The original colour had lost its vibrancy, and the protective sealant had worn away, leaving the concrete looking tired and lacklustre.
After: The driveway looks as good as new. The colour has been fully restored to a rich, deep charcoal, and the new high-gloss seal gives it a premium, “wet look” finish. The entire surface is now vibrant, protected, and has significantly enhanced the property’s kerb appeal.
Work Undertaken
- High-Pressure Cleaning: The first and most crucial step was to thoroughly clean the entire driveway. We used a high-powered pressure washer to remove all ingrained dirt, grime, algae, and any remnants of the old, failing sealant. This ensures the new products can penetrate and bond effectively with the concrete surface.
- Colour Restoration: Once the driveway was completely clean and dry, we applied a colour-tinted sealer. A charcoal tint was mixed with the sealer and applied evenly across the entire surface. This process restores the original colour, covering any faded or worn patches and ensuring a consistent, rich finish.
- Final Sealing Coat: After the initial colour coat, a final clear coat of high-solids, gloss finish concrete sealer was applied. This second coat builds up a strong, durable, and weather-resistant layer that protects the concrete from oil stains, frost damage, and colour fading, while also providing the stunning high-gloss shine.
The Result
The result is a complete revitalisation of the driveway. The three-stage process has brought the tired, faded concrete back to life, restoring its deep, original colour and protecting it for the future. The driveway now has a pristine, high-gloss finish that looks impressive and will be much easier for the homeowner to maintain. This project demonstrates that you don’t always need a new installation to achieve a dramatic transformation.
